how we ended up doing the impossible
Where it started.
Before Gapfruit, our founders built a military-grade OS for Swiss security authorities.
gapfruit is born.
Instead of repackaging old ideas, we started from scratch. The goal is to build an OS that brings those same principles to the industry.
The prove in financial services.
Together with Securosys, Gapfruit powered a TrustedExecution Environment (TEE) in hardware security modules (HSM) for interbank clearing and compliance.
we made a hard choice.
We shifted focus from financial services to critical infrastructure to provide edge gateway board support packages (BSP) solutions. That meant industrial IoT, LoRaWAN, and gateways that defend the edge, not just connect it.

In a live industrial PoC, Gapfruit OS demonstrated what traditional systems can't: zero-touch provisioning from OS to application, including configuration and data as well as self-healing driver resilience, and downtime-free updates.
